Cholesterol Free Food
Is there such thing
as cholesterol free
food?
Remember all foods
have calories. That is one thing we can be sure of. But
the truth of the matter is that there is no completely
cholesterol free food. Cholesterol free is merely a
promoting term to explain food that's extraordinarily low
in cholesterol, or virtually
non-existent.
Cholesterol free food can be called such if it contains 2
milligrams or less of cholesterol per serving. The foods that
have a cholesterol free label must also not have more than 2
grams of saturated fat per serving.
Going by these standards, foods that are considered
cholesterol free are oats, vegetables like brussel sprouts and
carrots, fruits like pears and oranges, lean meats, fish, fat
free dairy products, whole grain foods and dried beans and
peas.
The above are simply a few of the foods that you'll safely
eat knowing they are nearly cholesterol free. These foods can
be used to cook up delicious meals and luckily, more than a few
of the foods are extremely filling. The result is that you will
not be left yearning for fatty snacks that will quickly elevate
your cholesterol.
You must be very careful of what you eat if you're watching
your cholesterol closely. Watch out that you don't eat sugary
cereals for breakfast. Replace these with oatmeal varieties
instead.
Another hot spot for cholesterol sufferers is whether or not
or not they should still use butter on their bread. Well, you
actually can! There are now cholesterol lowering kinds of
margarine and butter available. Some of these actually
facilitate in the absorption of cholesterol, so you should
certainly give them a go.
Cholesterol free food does not have to be bland, but you
probably already knew that. You can easily incorporate these
foods into your cholesterol lowering diet and you may just be
surprised at the results.
